Your wedding is not a photoshoot.

It is a day that reflects who you are, the people you care about, and the way your lives are coming together. That is why I approach wedding photography the way I do. I want the photos to feel like your day actually felt, not like something staged over the top of it.

I will guide when it helps, move things along when the timeline needs it, and step back when a moment matters more than direction. The result should feel honest, beautiful, and like something you will care about more as the years pass.

My Approach

I care a lot about balance.

As a Seattle wedding photographer and Washington wedding photographer, I want your photos to feel like your day actually felt. You should have strong portraits, but you should also have time to be present. Family photos should feel organized, not chaotic. Group photos should move. When something real is happening, I am paying attention to that first.

My approach is rooted in documentary wedding photography, but I also know when to step in and give direction. Some moments need space. Some moments need a little guidance. The goal is never to make your wedding feel like one long photoshoot. It is to create images that look beautiful while still feeling honest and true to you.

That is what I mean when I say editorial documentary. I want the photos to have intention, good composition, and a timeless feel, but I also want them to reflect your people, your energy, and the actual atmosphere of the day. Whether I am photographing a full wedding, an intimate wedding, or a courthouse wedding in Seattle or anywhere in Washington, that balance is always what I am after.
