Four Seasons in a Few Hours, a Pacific Northwest Classic
If there’s one thing you can count on in the Pacific Northwest, it’s weather that likes to keep you on your toes! Sarah and Ethan experienced exactly that during their recent engagement session on Seabrook Beach in Washington. Their trip began all the way in Canada—yes, they loaded up the car (along with their pup, Oslo) and made the scenic drive down to enjoy a post-Christmas getaway. Little did they know Mother Nature would pull out all the stops, giving us rain, hail, wind, and even a touch of sunshine.
Despite the winter madness, this engagement session was full of laughter, heartfelt moments, and plenty of puppy energy. Seriously—Oslo could not stop zooming around the beach. I’m a total dog person, so having him there only added to the fun. If you’re considering bringing your pet to an engagement or wedding photoshoot, trust me, it can be an absolute joy.
Sarah’s Surprise Trip & Seabrook Beach Vibes
Sarah planned this Seabrook vacation as a Christmas surprise for Ethan, which instantly gave the entire engagement session an extra layer of sweetness. There’s just something about that ocean air mixed with winter’s unpredictability that makes for a memorable experience. Watching these two run around on the sand (with Oslo chasing every gust of wind) reminded me why I love photographing couples in the Pacific Northwest. From the dramatic skies to the charming coastal cottages nearby, Seabrook is a dream backdrop for any Washington engagement photography session.
Four Seasons in One Afternoon
In true PNW fashion, the weather changed by the minute—one moment we were huddled under an umbrella, dodging hail, and the next moment we were basking in a sun break. But Sarah and Ethan took it all in stride. Their adventurous spirits shone through in every shot, making each photo feel raw and genuine. By the time we wrapped up the session, I think we all felt like we’d conquered some epic nature challenge together.
Working With Oslo
Pets are family, and I fully encourage couples to bring their furry friends to photo sessions if it’s meaningful for them. Oslo was the star of the show when he wasn’t tugging at the leash or chasing driftwood (or the occasional bird). Sarah and Ethan wanted to be sure he was included in some pictures, and I was more than happy to oblige. It’s those in-between moments—like Oslo jumping for a treat or bothering them as they try to pose for a romantic photo —that really tie a session together and show the love a couple shares with their pet.
Sarah’s Kind Words
Hearing positive feedback after a shoot is one of the best parts of my job. Sarah shared:
“Andre did my fiancé and I’s engagement photoshoot and I couldn’t have asked for someone better. From the beginning of the experience of inquiring to receiving our photos he was very professional and kind, not to mention talented. […] My fiancé and I were both pretty shy in the beginning but Andre is very personable and made us as comfortable as we could be (in the freezing cold, rain, hail, etc. lol). He was also very accommodating of our dog being in the photos, which was very important to us. Also he had a very quick turnaround time which was lovely. I love his editing style and would love to work with him in the future. I would recommend to anyone looking for a talented, friendly, and professional wedding photographer.”
I’m humbled by such glowing words! It’s always my goal to help couples feel comfortable and confident, whether we’re braving the elements or hanging out with an enthusiastic pup.
